University Grants Commission (UGC) has put Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in the default list. UGC has not been informed by the University about the formation of Student Grievance Redressal Cell and creation of Ombudsman. However, Lokpal has been appointed here and a cell has also been created. Had to face action due to not sending the report.
421 universities of the country have been declared default. There are 256 state universities among them. These include many state universities of UP. These include Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University Aligarh, Chhatrapati Shahuji University Kanpur, Chaudhary Charan Singh University Kanpur, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University, Kanpur etc. The UGC had asked the universities to display the information and phone numbers of the Lokpal and the cell on their website and at prominent places on the campus and provide the information by December 31, 2023. Colleges did not do this.
UGC can stop grants
According to experts, UGC can stop grants from universities included in the default list. Dr. The numbers of the Lokpal and the cell have not been posted anywhere in Bhimrao Ambedkar University. University Registrar Dr. Rajeev Kumar says that within the stipulated time, Lokpal and Student Grievance Redressal Cell were formed and information was sent to the government and Raj Bhavan. Will also be sent to UGC. Their numbers will also be pasted at various places.
